EP 23 Cutting Aluminum / DIY Disc Sander | Cut Metal On the Onefinity CNC
Do they have a metal one?
It is metal
Real wood workers don't use a cnc machine.
Real hunters don't use spear.
Just wait when Onefinity comes out with their five access CNC model
Not even gonna give me credit guys? 😉
What were the speeds and feeds used on the cut? I'm curious, I'm new and learning.
Done! Didn't know your youtube name! :P Send an email to support@onefinitycnc.com and we'll get out a little 'thank you' :P

OKAY…. What about the elite foreman?
foremans are too big to go on the wall.
@@OnefinityCNC I figured hahaha after this comment I was even thinking about the last project that I did with a 4x8 sheet hanging off the bed…. Would have made that really difficult.
That’s awesome. This is the regular journeyman or the elite?
Pro Journeyman!
How come this is not standard on your machine ? It causes safety issue beacause the spindle can go down on your hand after you hit the e-stop and it also keeps braking the bits every time we hit the e-stop. This is a problem your machine have and this should not be a ''Upgrade'' but regular on that type of machine.
Same reason we sent in your support ticket! No other hobby cnc machine in this call (xcarve, shapeoko, millright, ccn4newbies, etc.) has a solution for a dropping Z using a heavy spindle except for Onefinity, using a brake. We feel we've actually done our customers a great service by providing this optional add on! If you went with a different machine, you wouldn't have a solution at all. By making it optional, those who are not using an aftermarket, unsupported, heavy spindle like yourself is not forced to pay for something they do not need or want. Also, some users simply just put a block of wood under their spindle when shutting down to keep the spindle up, saving them money again. Those who think the brake is worth it purchase it. The choice is up to you.
I just received my controller the other day and it is a total game changer! Question: Does the dust boot really work on a wall mounted set up? I don't see why it wouldn't. I am just curious as to how WELL it works compared to flat ,rather than IF it works.
Thank you. I'm looking at it well to buy it. I live in Deokjin-gu, Jeonju, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, South Korea.
Why does it retract before increasing the plung depth?
Because he didn't check the box "keep tool down"
Doesn’t the metal dull the bit?
I really like this would love more just need a little heads up as to when it’s happening Love Morgan’s bit of sarcasm it seams to be a Community thing
It's a Makita router, so literally any CNC can cope with this.
Actually you are incorrect. It’s about rigidity and not all hobby cnc’s are equal. The onefinity is a step above the average machine.
Agreed :P
What bit and feeds and speeds you running?
Is it possible to manually zero on an Elite machine?
Yes it is!
How about a completed project in aluminum.. Something small, doesn't have to be useful but it could be. Wish Onefinity could find someone to really showoff what their machine is capable of and show those video results. I have the Elite Journeyman and have a great time with it.
Cool idea!
What! This is awesome! Please more details 🙏
Thank you! Will do!
Hey that might have been mine you saw! Looks just as good in Maple as it does in Walnut 👍🏼👍🏼
Yes it was!
What were the settings used for feed rate/speed?
I just tried that myself. Ended up with decent results
Glad to hear!
Nice one day I am going to try one of those carvings. What was the run time? Oh and Go ‘Noles 😁
Go Gators
I made this one also
Nice work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Eu quero uma dessas, quanto é?

It's been a while since this video was originally posted. Is the Braking Stepper included with the purchase of the Elite 4x4 if 80mm spindle mount is selected at the time of purchase? I ordered one a little over 4 weeks ago and need to know if I still need to purchase the braking stepper separately? Google search sais, Yes the Elite Z-20 comes with Braking Stepper Motor. Is Google correct?
its only sold seperatly
Ok thanks for the heads up. Will be ordering the updated motor. You guys should add the option to add the Braking Stepper at time of Machine purchase. Everyone thatt is getting the 80mm Mount is going to be putting a heavy motor on the machine. Having a spare motor isn't a bad idea. But the Z-Slider dropping seems like a safety concern.
@@KZ-1155 We're the only hobby cnc company that has a brake available. :)
@@OnefinityCNC It's all good. I just meant I wish when ordering there was a check box option to add the additional brake motor. Kinda like the Stiffy add on option. Even after many months of research of a million videos and articals read, I never ran across the power off Z-drop thing. Maybe its a known thing by most people, but when your a first timer diving into the world of cnc routers, your head feels like it is going to explode from information overload. lol It wasn't until about 4 weeks after placing my order that I stumbled onto this information. Luckily I caught it just in time to add the brake stepper to my order which will arrive with the original order on the 21st. Having a spare non braking stepper is a good idea. Just in case. Thanks for all you guys do for the hobby industry!
In Vectric 12 (V carve pro) , you have to put in at least "one" (1) for the spindle speed when setting up a drag knife gadget. What is the best way make sure the Masso doesn't run the spindle during the cycle start since it will start the spindle, even though it is only at one?
you'll need to contact vectric and masso for that question.
This a asmr channel now?

Hey, Am I correct that I purchased a machine for $5000 and you want me to subscribe to this channel for $2.99 a month? Shouldnt I be a memebr for a time for purchasing the machine?
Subscribing is free!
I love everything about this video!!! Thank you for sharing all the feeds/speeds and bit info.
You are so welcome!
I have the 48in wide Onefinity and wish they could have thought about the end product a little more during development. Sure it says 48in but you cannot cut a 48in. It could only vbit carve a line 48" wide. I personal would have paid for another the inch or two. Did the designers or anyone developing this thing think to ask a true cnc user what size would have been more beneficial. I can't thin it's because threaded shafts are the limiting factor, event he torsion tubes are cut a length. Has anyone asked this question?
You Can cut 48" The cutting are is 48 1/8, so using a 1/8 bit, you can cut 48"
Any way to go from a Journeyman Pro to an Elite Foreman yet?
Only option is ww to journeyman.
PRAYING FOR A 4x8ft table for the THANKSGIVING surprise! 🙏
:)
I love my 44. I also bought the 7 add on head
Glad you love it!
So let me get this straight. So you're offering $250 for all the 3 previous generations... even though I have a 24W, barely used, paid over 1K for it and you would just give a $250 dollar discount?? and that also applies to a 7W or 14W?... The numbers don't add up. The higher the W, the higher the discount. I don't think this is right.
You're right, better they go back to offering nothing 🤷♂, Onefinity does not make these, so I am pleasantly surprised they decided to facilitate something like this
Somethings better than nothing :P You can always try to sell it on Facebook! - "Is this available?" :P
That’s awesome
We think so!
double sided inlay is my white whale project
You can do it!
Missed the stream, but my white whale project is a custom vacuum fixture that's designed in such a way that I can make my products that require double-sided machining without having to drill indexing pins into the wasteboard or use the tape/CA glue hold down method. Fear hasn't held me back, just the current limitations of my original woodworker that I bought back in May 2020. Once my new Elite arrives in a month or two, that will be my first major undertaking on the new machine. The second will be getting an ATC installed to eliminate the 7 manual bit changes per single product/piece.
No nee to set around and watch all day, till you turn your back and it burns downs your house.
Never look away!
People think it is the same as 3D printers for fire hazard and this is a big mistake.
I wish you had rails on the Z instead of just 4 bolts. It would be much more rigid, and the bracket that holds the spindle.
What do you mean when you talk about 'rails'? The Z assembly is attached using 4 M5 bolts, but the 80 or 65mm spindle bracket runs using bearings, on 2 x 20mm hollow steel shafts (what I would class as rails), driven by a 16mm ballscrew. The older Z axis used 16mm steel shaft 'rails'. The bolts are merely to attach the Z assembly to the X axis.
@@johnread7404 the clamp that holds the spindle needs to be taller, and the fact that they have such beefy rails and only 4 tiny screws holding on the entire Z assembly is kind of a joke. The entire Z needs to be rebuilt.
Thanks for your input.
I saved the auto tool zero settings. Went back to the F2 screen and pressed home. The machine went back to the tool setter but never dropped down to set the Z-offset. I have redone the process in the video multiple times with the same results. It always goes back to the tool setter but never lowers the bit down onto the tool setter for Z. What am I missing?
space bar.... you have to select the tool setter and press the space bar which will shift the status from high to low
